The slow cycle of the seasons continues where nature is undisturbed.

I’ve always enjoyed the fall, especially the big leaf maples that are so common in this area. This particular maple leaf is located in Prior Park on North Pender Island. This park is part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.

Overcast lighting makes the exposure of a subject like this quite easy in fact I’ll admit, I left my camera on Program for this image. Exposure compensation was -.33 as the dark background tends to cause a slight amount of overexposure without compensation.
