Timed to come out with the release of my new book, Enchanted Isles - The Southern Gulf Islands, I have set up a page by page discussing the images form a technical and informative view. This is a work in progress as is usually the case it’s taking way more time than I expected. Southeast Asia Photos

This experiment has turned into a fun although somewhat frustrating exercise. On the positive side there seems to be much potential for producing this type of photography gallery site. The flexibility is great and I expect site expansion will be very easy. What’s the downside?

So far I haven’t been able to produce html pages that mirror the look of the wordpress theme exactly. While I don’t think this really matters in many ways, I have a terribly bad habit of not being totally satisfied until everything is perfect. Sound familiar? I’ll get it some day.

In the meantime, I’ve expanded this idea into another site featuring photographs from Southeast Asia, namely Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. This site can be viewed at Southeast Asia Photographic Galleries if you want a sneak peak. Nothing like trying to debug two sites at once!

Galleries Are Live

I’ve managed to put up the first batch of images (around 1,000) into the Gulf Islands Photography stock galleries. There are still a few minor glitches incorporating the photo galleries from JAlbum into the Wordpress blog that this site uses although these will sort themselves out in the next few days.

Where to start? I’ve become interested in blogs during the past year or so and have wanted to set up a photography gallery using this technology. I don’t expect this to go very smoothly but if I don’t try I’ll never know whether it will work.

This site will concentrate on my images of British Columbia’s Gulf Islands. Images should be online in the next few days.
